MP3 Player SoundJam MP
Salinas, Calif. based software producer Casady & Greene has remedied the problem with the release of SoundJam MP, their new Mac-native player/encoder.
Features abound in the new player, including everything one would expect on a standard CD player--random play and shuffle modes, programmable playlists, multiple repeat modes and such--as well as a fully functional, on-screen 10-band graphic equalizer.
The equalizer includes several preset genre configurations (including rock, jazz, piano, vocal, etc.) as well as a preamp setting for adjusting songs mastered at different levels without altering equalizer settings. For those seeking simpler use, traditional bass and treble knobs are built-in as an alternative to the equalizer function. A left/right balance feature is also included.
With all that it has to offer, SoundJam MP may finally give Mac users the opportunity to gloat at their PC-wielding peers when it comes to MP3 playing and encoding. While there may be plenty of MP3 software packages designed for Windows, SoundJam can boast audio and visual superiority to most, if not all, of them. SoundJam takes MP3 to the Macs--and to the max!
